12 AB Operative Assessments

Units of competence -

  • Routine checks on plant and equipment

  • Selection and loading of equipment

  • Access and conduct on site

  • Placing of signs and cones

  • Vary reflective road studs "Optional"

  • Provision of traffic cylinders "Optional"

  • Temporary lighting

  • Site clearance

  • Maintenance

  • Miscellaneous tasks

Duration -

  • A total of three assessments based on the following:

  • All delegates MUST be competent in each of the assessments.

  • There MUST be a minimum gap of two weeks between assessments

  • All assessments MUST take place on high speed roads

  • Assessments for some units Incude Access to a Tower Light

  • All assessments MUST be for actual works

  • Only works which are carried out safely will be endorsed

  • Assessments MUST be carried out by approved and qualified assessors

Skills cards -

  • Will be issued by LANTRA Awards once the log books and supporting evidence has been verified subject to the following:

  • The card is valid for a period of five years

  • Operatives must attend an update prior to the card expiring

  • If the operative does no complete the update before the card expires, he/she will have to complete the assessment process.
