SSD 2A Boundary Fencing

This course -

  • Is aimed at candidates new to the fencing industry, providing the basic knowledge and practical experience required to enable them to assist a professional fence installer. This programme can be used as a progressional route towards a National/Scottish Vocational Qualification (N/SVQ) in fence installation.

Duration -

  • 5 days with a maximum of 6 delegates.

Objectives -

  • At the end of the course the delegates SHOULD be able to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of Health and Safety Legislation relative to work practices and environmental issues related to work practices

  • An understanding of materials used for fencing and their required standards

  • The ability to identify the correct tools and equipment required for fencing works and the correct care of those tools and equipment

  • An understanding of estimating and setting out and calculating for fencing works and the legal implications

  • The ability to install posts to the correct line and level, driven, concreted, and backfilled

  • The ability to erect strained wire railed and panel fence systems

  • An understanding of methods of inspecting for defects and repair options also the testing of completed fence works.

Tests -

  • Multiple choice question paper, 30 minutes time limit.
